Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does each counselling session last?

Each session lasts for 50 minutes.

  • How often will I see my counsellor?

Most people choose to see their counsellor once per week but this can vary. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your needs.

  • How do I make an appointment?

You can contact me by email or telephone (details at the bottom of this page and on the contact page). I try to respond to all emails within 48 hours (unless I am on leave). If you telephone, please be aware that I may be with a client and unable to answer. Please leave a message though and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

  • Who can come to counselling?

The short answer is anyone! There is no problem too large or too small and I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds. I am not currently qualified or insured to work with people aged under 18 but I know some excellent counsellors who work with children and young adults so please get in touch if you would like further information.

  • How do I know you will be the right counsellor for me?

The relationship you have with your counsellor is really important. I will do everything I can to build a trusting, kind and respectful relationship with you. However, if you find that I am not the right fit, please always feel free to discuss this with me as I will happily help you find somebody who could work better for you. All people are different and need different things and you deserve counselling that is the very best fit for you.
